500th Anniversary of the Reformation

Check out the "church doors" bulletin board display in the narthex of the church to see everything that will be happening in October as we celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation!

Why is this such an important event?  The Reformation is not about a man named Martin Luther.  It is about how God worked through a man named Martin Luther to direct the church back to the foundation of Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation!  Through his writings and teachings, based on Scripture alone, Luther pointed us back to the truth of the Gospel which is that we are saved in Christ alone by faith alone through grace alone.  Salvation is not about us and what we do for God, but purely about what God has done for us through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ!  That's what we are celebrating and that's why our theme is:

Reformation 2017: It's STILL All About Jesus!

You will also want to make sure to stop and check out what new clever things Luther has to say each week!

On this display you will also find the volunteer sign-up sheet to help with the Oktoberfest!

Love to run??!!  Why not run to celebrate Jesus?!

For 500 years, our church has been rooted firmly in Christ, so on October 7th, we are celebrating with a Family 5K Fun Run/Walk.

Check-in/Registration will be in the southeast corner of the new parking lot (Intersection of Maple Grove Rd. and Getchell Rd.) from 10:30 A.M. until 11 A.M. when the race begins.  The route will be on Getchell Rd. between Maple Grove Rd. and Hermantown Rd., including the White Pine St./Hidden Creek Ave/Red Cedar St. loop.

All runners will receive a race number, a t-shirt, and a Head and Neckwear Buff with Luther’s Rose printed on it.  Snacks and drinks will be provided at the finish line.

Invite all your friends to come run with you and then stay for the Oktoberfest right after the race! Register Today!

The Reformation began with Martin Luther in Germany,
so to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of this world-changing event,
Peace In Christ is hosting an Oktoberfest on Oct. 7th!

With no entry fee and an abundance of fun things to do, you can’t afford to miss this fun afternoon!  Polish-Style Brats, Pretzels, and Root Beer served in commemorative cups will be for sale.   97.3 will be broadcasting live during the event.  Gaga ball, rock-wall climbing, and many other games for kids of all ages will be available!

There will be an Information Booth with a plethora of fun facts about the Reformation, games for adults, free handouts, and door prizes!  We will even have a photo booth where you can take crazy and silly pictures with Martin Luther himself!

There will also be local Christian organizations (like Pelican Coffee) promoting the services they offer the local communities and the ways they are spreading the love of Christ through their organization.

And of course, in true Oktoberfest style, there will be a “Root Beer Garden” to come relax, listen to the music, and socialize with friends, both old and new!  So, bring your family, your friends, and your neighbors and enjoy this grand, memory-making celebration!

Then after worship, we will have a
