National Youth Gathering

Held every 3 years, the LCMS Youth Gathering provides thousands of youth and adults the opportunity to come together as a community of God’s people to learn more about Jesus Christ, the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity. During the five days of the Gathering, youth spend time together in God’s word, worship, service and fellowship with others from across the synod. This event is organized by LCMS Youth Ministry in Saint Louis, MO.

In 2016, Peace In Christ was blessed to take 40 students and 10 adult chaperones to New Orleans, LA.  The theme for this gathering was "In Christ Alone."  It was the experience of a lifetime for all those involved.  Feel free to ask any of the attendees (pictured below) about the impact of this trip on their lives.  If you have a child between 8th-12th grade, see the information below about the next NYG in 2019 in Minneapolis!

Youth Confirmation

Confirmation classes at Peace In Christ involve 7th and 8th grade students in a two-year curriculum.  Year one takes students through an in-depth study of Luther’s Small Catechism.  Year two features practical lessons dealing with topics such as creationism, the history of Lutherans in America, the origins of the Bible, Islam, abortion, stewardship, Jehovah’s Witnesses, God’s gift of sexuality, and Mormonism.  Weekly Confirmation classes are offered from September through April with two identical sessions (3 p.m. and 6 p.m.) held on Wednesdays. Confirmation Sunday is usually the first Sunday in May.
